Cocccon unveiled an amazing collection for the first time in India at the joint phygital seasonless FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week March 16-21. Two unique different traditions and innovations gave rise to the truly circular fashion label Cocccon. The brand’s mantra ‘Creativity Can Care’ was formulated in 2012 by the Indo- German designer duo. The brain behind this brand is Germany based Indian fashion designer, Chandra Prakash Jha and Georg, a remarkable graphic design fashion activist from Berlin. Cocccon has always been well known as the luxury fashion label that offered its signature, peace organic silk garments and scarves splashed with amazing colours, patterns and prints.

Cocccon’s fashion experiments were directed by Prakash in his native state Jharkhand, thus helping silk farmers, spinners, and weavers to work directly from their own regions.
Following all the sustainable practices, the Cocccon label is one of the most respected globally for its fashion aesthetics, as well as innovative design sensibilities.

Project Cocccon is GOTS, WFTO, OCS certified and won the German Sustainability Award Design 2021. “As a designer I must say this was a wonderful opportunity where I could transcend the horizons following up with the design process, prints, garment construction and the outcome as a conglomeration of all efforts. I won't say this is all I could give in, to the whole world, but I would be more than happy if my collection could inspire the socio-psychological vision towards fashion and can bring up a sustainable lifestyle,” stated Chandra Prakash Jha.

Cocccon has always understood the need for luxury in a sustainable fashion world. The “Purn Vritt” collection presented by Cocccon at the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week was an Avant Garde look at ensembles by the Indo-German designing duo, Prakash and Georg. For the presentation, the collection resembled the indigenous performing art of Jharkhand, which spoke about the conflict between circular (Jeevan Chakra) and linear (Jeevan Rekha) lifestyle.
The process of Seri-cultural was performed with strict organic methods and zero-carbon measures as well as zero-waste techniques. The plastic-free collection instead, worked with natural resources like bamboo or cane.

Unveiling a line of amazing, futuristic, space-age like garments made from biodegradable materials that had no trace of negative impact on earth. The principal base was the
organically produced Ahimsa or peace silk, where the silkworm completes its life cycle and emerges as a beautiful butterfly.
The colours of the collection could have rivalled those of the rainbow when the film opened with the dramatic dance movements of Jharkhand. A draped, printed sari with long-sleeved choli, pleated yoke blouse, summer dresses, ruffled necklines for party wear, and draped lungis, brought in focus a look that was not only exaggerated but also totally unconventional. The one-shoulder style or single sleeve creations vied for attention with pleated skirts and balloon or rectangular sleeves, while abstract silhouettes and futuristic
forms created a visual feast.

Geometry was the mainstay of the prints, as circles, squares, rectangles and linear patterns jostled on the bright hues. Bringing summer block prints on the garments, the silhouettes were comfortable yet amazing in shape and form. Besides the organic silks, the unconventional blends also added to the variety offered in the collection and raised the fashion quotient of the look.

The ensembles came together in an amazing style and design, in the luxurious peace silk but with a very Avant-Garde appeal yet looked as if almost ready for an outer space trip.
The “Purn Vritt” Cocccon not only offered a sophisticated and one-of-a-kind appeal that exuded an elegant and youthful spirit, but also great fashion-forward looks.
