Synopsis
Dhamaka is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language Indian action thriller film directed by Ram Madhvani and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Amita Madhvani and Ram Madhvani. Dhamaka is a remake of South Korean film, The Terror Live. The movie released in 2013 was about a news presenter who was rigged with a bomb. Kartik has already released his first look as Arjun Pathak from the film on his Instagram handle on December 21, where we can see him wearing a blazer which has the tag ‘TRTV’ and his shirt has bloodstains.
In October 2020, it was reported that Ram Madhvani narrated the film’s script to Kartik Aaryan and he gave his nod, as it was his first serious role after a number of comical and romantic characters. Aaryan officially announced the film on his 30th birthday, i.e. 22 November 2020. Principal photography began on 14 December 2020 in Mumbai. The film was wrapped up in just 10 days on 24 December 2020.
The role was initially offered to Kriti Sanon when the movie was supposed to be directed and produced by Rahul Dholakia and Azure, respectively. However, Gaurav Bose, senior producer of Azure said that the project could not materialise as Kriti walked out of the film. Kriti just quit without giving a worthy explanation. RSVP movies is currently producing the film along with Ram and stars Kartik in the lead role, which would have been played by Kriti had she accepted the unnamed film then.
