On Teachers Day, which is observed in India on September 5, dancer and actress Mukti Mohan, who has been part of the projects Life Hill Gayi, Gyaarah Gyaarah, and Thar and is currently seen in A Wedding Story, says her mentors are her sister Neeti Mohan and director Anurag Kashyap. She thanked them and said she is grateful for their contribution to her career.
She said, “My Godmother Neeti Di has been my guru, guide, philosopher, the sole source and reason I love a kind of music and filmographies of inspiring artists. She introduced me to the world of cinema and Anurag Kashyap Sir himself; I got my best education in films by assisting him on the project Bombay Velvet, wherein Neeti di was the female voice of the album.”
“Anurag Sir is my mentor and friend who encouraged me to read and watch world cinema, and he even insisted that I do theatre and get introduced to various scripts,” she added.

As luck would have it, Mukti featured in two films whose directors consider Anurag as their mentor too. She said, “It’s serendipitous that I got to audition for Thar and A Wedding Story, which was headed by Raj Singh Chaudhary Sir and Abhinav Pareek Sir, respectively, and they both regard Anurag Sir as their mentors as well. I feel blessed that in my journey I got to learn from them all at different times. I’m extremely grateful, driven to work; continue to do good work and make them proud.”
