Amazon miniTV, Amazon’s free video streaming service, recently premiered a captivating drama series called Dehati Ladke. This eight-episode series is a slice-of-life drama that follows the journey of a small-town boy named Rajat who moves to the bustling city of Lucknow to pursue his academic aspirations.
After enrolling at Lucknow University, he carries the weight of his family’s and village’s expectations of excelling in administrative competitive tests, which clash with his newfound temptations of city and college life. The series stars Shine Pandey, Raghav Sharma, Tanish Neeraj, Saamya Jainn, Aasif Khan, and Kusha Kapila in pivotal roles. In Dehati Ladke, Kusha plays the role of Chhaya, a professor at Rajat’s university.
Recently, Kusha Kapila reminisced about her college life and shared, “My experience in college was truly remarkable. Initially, I pursued my English honors at IP College for Women, which is affiliated with Delhi University. Subsequently, I enrolled in NIFT to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Leather Design. Undoubtedly, the most enriching part of my college journey was the knowledge and skills I acquired there. During my time at Delhi University, I actively participated in drama and dramatics, which profoundly impacted my personal growth. It taught me the importance of friendship and love”.
She further added, “And I feel like that is a cocktail experience of being a young person in a university. I had all of that. So, my college experience was very similar. Because I was going through a very protective environment, a very open cultural shift. And I’ve always been a city girl. I went from one city to another. So, I didn’t feel the culture shock after coming from a small town. But yes, I was suddenly independent. I could make adult choices; it was just fantastic”.
