Filmmaker Aanand L Rai’s knack for choosing the right actors for his signature small-town stories has often garnered attention, making his extensive filmography emerge as classic hits. For ‘Tanu Weds Manu‘, Rai saw R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in a different light. He presented Dhanush in a different avatar in ‘Raanjhanaa‘, which continues to be celebrated among the masses even today. Now that the ace filmmaker is gearing up to launch fresh faces Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava in his upcoming film ‘Nakhrewaalii‘, he reveals how he spotted the two talents for the film, which promises to bring a fresh perspective in Bollywood rom-coms.

When I first saw Ansh and Pragati during the auditions, deep down I knew they would be the perfect fit for ‘Nakhrewaalii‘. There are actors who act, and there are actors who live their roles in and out, and that exact spark in both of them attracted me the most. I am assured that the audiences will also love what they’ve done in the film,” stated the filmmaker. Previously, Ansh expressed his thanks to Aanand L Rai for his guidance in a social media post. “Thank you for trusting me with your vision,” he wrote.

Rai and his production banner Colour Yellow Productions recently treated the audiences with the first poster of the film, which amped up the curiosity among the audiences to see what the producer brings to the table with this out-of-the-box rom com. The poster, which sees Duggal wearing a ghagra, showcases how Rai has never shied away from breaking stereotypes and bringing uniqueness through his storytelling.

Directed by Rahul Shanklya and written by Divy Nidhi sharma, Nakhrewaalii is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma. The film, which yet again brings a small town story but with a fresh perspective, is slated to hit the theatres on Valentines Day next year.
